On the morning of July 5th, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee organized the 18th Expanded Executive Board Conference to review and provide opinions on draft reports and other matters within its jurisdiction.

The conference was presided over by several comrades, including Nguyen Dinh Trung - Central Party Committee member and Provincial Party Secretary, Pham Minh Tan - Standing Deputy Provincial Party Secretary, Pham Ngoc Nghi - Provincial Party Deputy Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Y Biêr Niê - Provincial Party Deputy Secretary.

The conference was attended by representatives from several central agencies, Party Standing Committee and Executive Board members, leaders of advisory agencies and organizations assisting the Provincial Party Committee, leaders of the provincial People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front, departments, branches, mass organizations, and localities within the province.

Mr. Pham Minh Tan, Standing Deputy Provincial Party Secretary, presented a report on the results of the work carried out during the first six months of the year.

According to the report presented at the conference, from the beginning of 2023 to the present, the estimated total gross domestic product (GDP) of the province has reached 24,934 billion VND, which is equivalent to 39.6% of the plan and a 4.01% increase compared to the same period in 2022. The total social investment capital mobilized is estimated at 15,744 billion VND, equivalent to 44.7% of the plan and a 1.1% increase compared to the same period. The total cultivated area for the spring-winter crops has exceeded the set plan, and the total retail of goods and service revenue is estimated at 50,838 billion VND, equivalent to 53.3% of the plan, with a 6.9% increase compared to the same period. The total state budget revenue reached 4,052 billion VND.

Military and defense tasks are maintained at a high level of combat readiness, with coordination to prevent and suppress the sabotage activities of hostile forces and reactionaries to ensure political security within the province. Notably, a significant incident occurred on June 11, where armed groups invaded and attacked the headquarters of the People's Committee in Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur communes (Cư Kuin district). The province has been cooperating with the Ministry of Public Security to take resolute measures to capture the perpetrators. As of now, the situation in the province has returned to normal and remains stable.

Efforts to provide medical treatment and healthcare for the people have been continually strengthened. Labor, employment, and social security policies for the poor, those with meritorious services, and social welfare beneficiaries have been fully and timely implemented. Numerous traditional festivals and cultural and artistic events have been held vibrantly and meaningfully, with the successful organization of the 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2023.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung, Central Party Committee member and Provincial Party Secretary, delivered the opening speech at the conference.

In his opening speech, Comrade Nguyen Dinh Trung, Central Party Committee member and Provincial Party Secretary, suggested that the delegates maintain a spirit of openness, democracy, responsibility, and focus on studying the draft reports. They should discuss outstanding results, bright spots in socio-economic development, the construction of the political system, and the challenges and difficulties in implementing tasks. Therefore, they should propose core solutions for successful implementation of the planned objectives and tasks. This includes analyzing and clarifying the causes of the difficulties and challenges in the economic growth of the first six months, the state budget revenue decrease of 16.64% compared to the same period, and the low disbursement of public investment funds.

The Provincial Party Secretary also proposed that the delegates focus on discussing issues related to discipline and organization in the Party, as well as the responsibilities of civil servants in the province, and the quality of the political system at the grassroots level.
