On the morning of March 8, Dak Lak Museum held the opening ceremony of the exhibition "Traditional costumes of ethnic groups in Dak Lak" and launched an automatic narration application for the Coffee Festival.

The exhibition introduces 45 images, 130 artifacts, divided into 8 categories, relvant to 8 languages and 01 general introduction about ethnic costumes in Dak Lak.

The exhibition is held to celebrate the 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival (March 10-14, 2023), to introduce to people and visitors the unique features of culture and life of the ethnic groups living in Dak Lak through traditional costumes, jewelry and everyday items.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of Dak Lak Provincial Museum said that the culture of Vietnam's ethnic groups is very diverse, from food, costumes, habits, production methods to singing, festivals, worship, marriage, etc. In which, costume is where the national identity is clearly expressed and easily identifiable. Costumes can be seen as messages of communities about the historical process and cultural exchange. Despite the diversity of ethnic groups and localities, the common features on costumes have been shown through each ethnic group and each region.

Dak Lak province has a rich cultural identity with 49 ethnic groups living together. Through the artifacts and images, the exhibition "Traditional costumes of ethnic groups in Dak Lak" also aims to honor and prmote the traditional cultural and aesthetic values of Vietnamese people in general and in Dak Lak province in particular; celebrate the role and responsibility of the community in preserving, protecting and promoting the value of the nation's traditional costumes, enriching and diversifying the culture of the people of Vietnam.

In addition, in order to create a space for visitors to experience and interact directly with cultural subjects, Dak Lak Museum organizes experiential activities such as: weaving brocade cloth, introducing some specialties of Dak Lak province, cooking traditional dishes of the Ede people.

In addition, Dak Lak Museum and local schools also organize for student to visit the exhibition and participate in exciting activities in order to raise the sense of preserving and honoring the national cultural identity.

On this occasion, Dak Lak Museum introduced digital transformation advances at the Museum such as: putting the automatic narration application into service; guide visitors to use the sightseeing app on smartphones.

The automatic narration system initially consists of 33 sections, integrating typical stories, carefully selected, helping visitors actively learn about exhibited elements, experience virtual reality and interact with 16 3D-artifacts, improving the quality of visits at Dak Lak Museum.

According to Mr. Dinh Mot, Dak Lak Museum has gradually applied technology, implemented digital transformation in collecting, preserving, displaying and introducing values of historical and cultural relics to the general public. Digital transformation will bring visitors information and multi-dimensional perspectives of nature, history, culture of the land and people of Dak Lak from the past to the present
