Social Insurance presents Certificate of Merit to To Hieu Elementary School and Principal Doan Thi Tuyet Yen for Outstanding Achievement in Student Health Insurance for the Academic Year 2023-2024 (25/11/2023, 08:33)

On the morning of November 20, the provincial Social Insurance organized the presentation of Certificates of Merit to To Hieu Elementary School (Buon Ma Thuot City) and Ms. Doan Thi Tuyet Yen, the school principal, for their outstanding performance in organizing student health insurance activities for the academic year 2023-2024.

Previously, on November 15, To Hieu Elementary School had sent letters to various agencies, businesses, parents, and benefactors, proposing to replace the tradition of presenting flowers on Vietnamese Teacher's Day (November 20) with the distribution of student health insurance cards. This initiative aimed to assist students facing financial difficulties, who had not yet enrolled in health insurance, by providing healthcare support and alleviating economic burdens for their families, contributing to social welfare in the area.

Representatives of the provincial Social Insurance leadership awarded Certificates of Merit to the collective and individual achievements of the school principal.

It is reported that in the academic year 2023-2024, To Hieu Elementary School has a total of 1,147 students, including 55 students from financially challenged families who have not yet enrolled in health insurance. This practical and humanitarian effort by the school staff and teachers demonstrates their care for students in difficult circumstances who cannot afford health insurance. It also has a positive impact on society, encouraging collective efforts to ensure healthcare for the younger generation.

Following the call for support, the school has successfully garnered contributions, and to date, 43 health insurance cards have been obtained.

Representatives of the provincial Social Insurance leadership handed over financial support to the school for purchasing health insurance cards for disadvantaged students.

Ms. Do Thi Hang, Deputy Director of the provincial Social Insurance, stated that at the beginning of the year, the provincial Social Insurance had collaborated with the Department of Education and Training to issue interdisciplinary guidelines on student health insurance. These guidelines directed district, town, and city units to actively coordinate with the Department of Education and Training in promoting propaganda, mobilizing resources, and enhancing public awareness, striving to achieve the goal of 100% enrollment of students in health insurance.

The practical and humanitarian actions of the school staff and teachers have demonstrated their concern for students in difficult circumstances who cannot afford health insurance. This effort also has a broader impact on people from all walks of life in society, rallying collective support for ensuring healthcare for the younger generation. It represents an act of compassion, spreading love, and a joint effort towards the social security mission of To Hieu Elementary School.

On this occasion, representatives of the provincial Social Insurance leadership congratulated the school staff on Vietnamese Teacher's Day and presented a monetary contribution of 2 million VND from the collective support of public officials to help the school purchase health insurance cards for disadvantaged students.
