The Provincial Museum receives more than 800 artefacts donated by collectors (13/03/2020, 09:22)

On March 8, Dak Lak provincial Museum held a ceremony to receive artefacts and opening an exhibition themed “The Imprint of Time”. This activity is one of events to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Victory of Buon Ma Thuot city (March 10, 1975 - March 10, 2020) and the 80th founding anniversary of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee (November 23, 1940 - November 23, 2020).

Dak Lak provincial Museum received more than 800 documents and exhibits from private collector at the ceremony; particularly, more than 500 documents and exhibits were presented by collector Nguyen Ngoc An.  These artefacts include many different types and materials such as:  ceramic objects, jewellery (bracelets, necklaces, earrings); domestic appliances; Vietnamese money over periods…including many antiques belong to cultures of Sa Huynh, Dong Son, Dong Nai and from the dynasties of Ly, Tran, Le, Mac, Nguyen, Champa …

It is known that since 2014, collector Nguyen Ngoc An (living in Mui Ne, Phan Thiet) has donated 66 times of thousands of documents and artefacts to 29 units in provinces and cities nationwide. Currently, he is expectedly establishing a private museum to serve the needs of local community in cultural study and create a cultural destination to serve tourists.

Collector Nguyen Ngoc An shared that he and other collectors presented artefacts to Dak Lak provincial Museum with the desire to preserve and promote traditional values of Vietnam as well as to provide more historical documents supporting to the studying, learning and sightseeing activities. Mr. Dinh Mot – Director of Dak Lak provincial Museum said the Museum had received many artefacts from collectors over the past time, contributing to exhibitions and the enrichment of artefacts of the Museum. \

On this occasion, Dak Lak provincial Museum opened an exhibition under the theme “The Imprint of Time” to display many artefacts in collections of ceramic objects, money, jewellery; domestic appliances over many periods. Those artefacts have great historical and cultural value, which is testament to the development of the humanity in general and Vietnamese culture in particular; also is a valuable source for Dak Lak Museum in preserving and promoting the value o the country’s cultural heritage.  

Dak Lak presents Certificates of Merit to collectors for their contribution to Dak Lak provincial Museum. 

Also at the ceremony, under the authorization of the Dak Lak Provincial People’s Committee, leaders of Dak Lak Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism presented the Certificates of Merit of the Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People’s Committee to five collectors for their outstanding contribution in the province’s exhibitions./.
