On September 1^st, within the framework of the 1^st Krong Pac Durian Festival 2022, an activity to visit and experience the clean banana farm for export of KD Green Farm Joint Stock Company in Vu Bon Commune, Krong Pac District was organized.

Delegates visit the clean banana farm for export

The model of producing clean bananas for export in Kre Village, Vu Bon Commune, Krong Pac District has been invested by KD Green Farm Joint Stock Company since 2018 with an initial area of 100 hectares of Cavendish banana. The Company has invested professionally and applied many advanced scientific and technical solutions to increase production and labor efficiency. In order for Cavendish bananas to meet export standards, all steps of selecting varieties, planting, caring, and harvesting must strictly follow the technical process.

The entire area of the banana farm is invested with a drip irrigation and fertilizer system that saves labor and water for irrigation. Banana plants that are fully cared for will bloom after 6 months and be harvested 3 months later. The stage of banana blossom is carefully monitored to handle each step such as: removing yellow leaves, breaking buds and covering bunches of banana to ensure that the bananas are clean, beautiful, and unblemished. Post-harvest bananas are preliminarily processed and packed at the farm according to standard specifications for export. With 100 hectares of banana produced according to VIETGAP and ISO standards, the farm harvests about 5,700 tons of bananas and earns nearly 80 billion VND in revenue each year.

Currently, KD Green Farm Joint Stock Company is expanding 200 hectares of bananas produced according to GLOBALGAP standards in order to export to major markets such as China, Korea, Japan and Europe. In addition to profits for the Company, the banana farm also creates stable jobs for hundreds of local workers with an average income of 6 million VND/person/month. It is expected that by the end of September 2022, the Company will complete the expansion of 200 hectares and reach a total area of 300 hectares in Vu Bon Commune. In 2023, it is estimated that the output will reach about 17,000 tons and the revenue will be about 240 billion VND.

Speaking at the farm visit, Mr. Tran Hong Tien, Secretary of the Party Committee of Krong Pac District and Chairman of the People's Council of Krong Pac District, emphasized that the clean banana farm for export of KD Green Farm Joint Stock Company in Vu Bon Commune is a typical model on the application of technology in production to improve the value of local agricultural products. In addition, the farm has also created jobs and increased income for many local workers, and made an important contribution to the new-style rural construction of the District.
