On October 5, at the historical site of the establishment of the first Communist Party cell in Phu Yen (Long Binh hamlet, Dong Xuan commune, Dak Lak province), the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dak Lak province solemnly organized a ceremony to commemorate the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the first Communist Party cell in Phu Yen (October 5, 1930 - October 5, 2025).

Provincial leaders, former leaders, officials, and the public participated in the flag-raising ceremony at the commemoration.

Attendees included: Comrade Cao Thi Hoa An - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; Comrade Huynh Thi Chien Hoa - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; members of the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Board; the Standing Committee of the People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, former provincial leaders from various periods, leaders of departments, branches, localities in the province, and a large number of people from all walks of life.

At the commemoration, the delegates respectfully offered incense, expressing their deep gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh - the founder, leader, and trainer of the glorious Communist Party of Vietnam, as well as honoring the heroes, martyrs, and the first party members of the Communist Party of Vietnam in Phu Yen (formerly), and the comrades and compatriots who bravely sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation, and for the happiness of the people.  

The leaders of Dak Lak province offered incense in memory of the predecessors at the 95th anniversary celebration of the founding of the first Communist Party cell in Phu Yen.

In her speech at the commemoration, Cao Thi Hoa An - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council, recalled the history of the 95 years since the establishment of the first Communist Party cell. Just eight months after the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930), the first Party cell in Phu Yen was established on October 5, 1930, in Dong Be hamlet, Phuoc Long commune, Dong Xuan district, Phu Yen province (now part of Dong Xuan commune, Dak Lak province). The cell consisted of nine members, led by Phan Luu Thanh as Secretary.

The establishment of the first Communist Party cell in Phu Yen marked a significant historical political event, serving as a milestone that initiated the courageous and glorious revolutionary struggle of the Party and the people of Phu Yen province. Following its establishment, the cell quickly gathered, propagated, and enlightened many patriotic and progressive individuals, significantly promoting the establishment of Party organizations.

By January 1931, the provisional Provincial Party Committee of Phu Yen was formed; since then, the Party has led the military and people of Phu Yen to achieve many important victories during the August Revolution, the resistance against French colonialism, and American imperialism. The Party organization, military, and people of Phu Yen continue to uphold the glorious revolutionary tradition of their homeland, united in purpose, striving to achieve significant and comprehensive accomplishments across all fields.

Over the 95-year revolutionary history, from the first cell with nine party members to the present, following the merger of the Party organization of Phu Yen with that of Dak Lak, there are now over 137,200 party members; 100% of hamlets, villages, neighborhoods, and organizational units have established Party cells.

Comrade Cao Thi Hoa An emphasized that the merger of the two Party organizations, as well as the two provinces of Dak Lak and Phu Yen, presents numerous advantages, with an area of 18,096 square kilometers, ranking third; a population of 3.347 million, ranking 17th nationwide, and a coastline of nearly 190 kilometers. This is not merely a mechanical addition of two provinces but will create a new, larger development space, rich in cultural diversity and identity, with abundant potential and greater strength.

After three months of operating the two-tier government, Dak Lak province has gradually stabilized its activities. The Party committees and government at all levels, along with the staff, civil servants, and workers, are making efforts to better serve the people and bring the government closer to the citizens.

The organization of congresses in the Party organizations under the Provincial Party Committee and the first Congress of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee for the term 2025-2030 has been very successful. The Party organization, government, and people have high hopes for a rapidly developing, sustainable, civilized, and culturally rich Dak Lak in the next five years.

On this occasion, the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee presented 20 gift packages to policy beneficiary families in Dong Xuan commune.
