Many enterprises believe that the time when tourism officially reopens is the right time for tourism of Dak Lak Province to innovate its mode of operation and products, strengthen cooperation, and promote tourism through digital technology in order to create a push after a period of slowdown due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
Attracting big investors
Mr. Bui Minh Thang, Director of Phuong Thang Travel Service Trading Co., Ltd (Khanh Hoa Province) shared that the results of visiting and surveying some tourist attractions in Dak Lak Province showed that Dak Lak Province has unique and attractive tourism products and tourists attractions such as kayaking on the Serepok River (3 kilometers) from Dray Sap Thuong Waterfall to Dray Nur Waterfall. This is a tourism product that is very suitable for the needs of international tourists. They will connect the above tourism products to bring tourists to Dak Lak Province and vice versa.

"However, the tourist attractions and tourism products of Dak Lak Province are still small and lacking big investors to create a push for local tourism. Therefore, Dak Lak Province needs to attract potential investors to change the face of tourism of Dak Lak Province. Dak Lak Province also needs to promote its strengths with unique tourism products such as experiencing coffee production because Buon Ma Thuot City is known as the coffee capital of Viet Nam and the world," said Mr. Bui Minh Thang.
Connecting Caravan tours
After 4 days of surveying tourism products and services in provinces of the Central Highlands, Mr. Tran Van Quang, President of VND Travel Service Co., Ltd, said that the Central Highlands have a great potential in tourism with many new destinations that are eligible to develop tourism products in the form of Caravan tour, which is the trend of tourism in 2022.

Caravans are becoming more and more popular after the COVID-19 epidemic. In order to avoid crowded places and limit public transport, traveling by private car is the best choice which is both safe for health and suitable for the trend of traveling in small groups or families.
An advantage of Caravan tours is traveling with small cars that take tourists to remote places more easily and flexibly than big cars or to new destinations having different experiences. In addition, Caravan tours can combine charity programs or programs to learn about local culture that mass tours can not do. Therefore, Dak Lak Province needs to actively build destinations for this type of tourism in order to meet tourists’ demands and stimulate tourism in remote areas.
To welcome the Famtrip Caravan teams, Dak Lak Province coordinated with travel companies to well know the changes related to roads and regulations on traffic of localities to have solutions or provide information to tourists. Mr. Quang hoped that Dak Lak Province will soon complete unique Caravan tourism products to promote tourism in the near future.
From the manager's point of view, Mr. Nguyen Quy Phuong, Director of the Travel Department, directly under Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, said that the Famtrip Caravan program connecting Binh Dinh with provinces of the Central Highlands is a promptly initiative of enterprises when tourism reopens. It is also an effort to promote markets, products and services in order to safely and effectively reopen international and domestic tourism activities in the new normal.
Based on the opinions offered by enterprises at the workshop, Dak Lak Province will continue to improve and launch new tourism products as well as strengthen tourism promotion. In addition, Dak Lak Province will strengthen cooperation in tourism development with localities, thereby contributing to the successful implementation of both safely and flexibly recovering tourism and effectively controlling the COVID-19 epidemic.
Investing in coffee experience tourism
Mr. Pham Hoai Nguyen Anh, Director of ANH Coffee Co., Ltd, which has actively carried out coffee experience tourism, said that tourists who come to Buon Ma Thuot City in particular and Dak Lak Province in general often want to visit and enjoy coffee. Many local tourism units are focusing on exploiting coffee culture. In addition, tourists coming to Dak Lak Province usually want to know what to eat, what to drink, how to plant coffee, and how to experience the space of coffee.

The company is planning to let tourists learn how to select, roast, brew, pack, and enjoy coffee. This will help them have new experiences. Moreover, all sightseeing and experience services are also free, and tourists are not forced to buy products.
“In the future, we hope that the relevant agencies will continue to complete the project of tourism with coffee and we will also coordinate with the coffee growing regions to open more tours in order to serve tourists well", said Mr. Nguyen Anh.

Dak Lak Province has focused on developing an elephant-friendly tourism model and organizing entertainment activities to serve tourists at night such as walking street, night market, food, shopping, and Gong culture in the downtown of Buon Ma Thuot City and tourist attractions.
