On July 31st, the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control, Search, and Rescue of Dak Lak province reported that prolonged heavy rains, influenced by tropical storm No.1 (TALIM), tropical storm No.2 (DOKSURI), and strong southwest winds, have led to flooding in 2,440 hectares of crops and damage to some infrastructure in the province.
Accordingly, the heavy rain in Lak, Krong Ana, Ea Sup, and Krong Bong districts has caused flooding in 2,440 hectares of crops, including 2,256 hectares of rice, 95.5 hectares of maize, 42.5 hectares of cashews, and 46 hectares of beans. In Ea Sup district, the heavy rain has also flooded some sections of National Highway 14C from Ia R've commune to Ia Lop commune, resulting in the isolation of residential areas. Additionally, several inter-commune roads have been submerged by 10-20 centimeters of water, dividing local communities. The heavy rain has also caused damage to about 2 kilometers of canal N12, part of the Chinh Tay canal in the Ea Sup upper reservoir area.

In Lak district, water is flowing rapidly in streams, posing a high risk of widespread flooding, especially in Buon Triet, Buon Tria, and Dak Lieng communes. Furthermore, about 30 meters of the Krong Ana Riverbank in Buon Triet commune has overflowed. Local authorities have promptly mobilized forces, materials, and equipment to address the situation.
According to the forecast from the Provincial Hydro-Meteorological Center, there will continue to be heavy rain in the coming days, mainly concentrated in the afternoon and evening. There is a warning of the risk of flash floods, embankment erosion, and inundation in low-lying areas, affecting people's lives and agricultural production.
To proactively respond to the recurring types of natural disasters, Dak Lak province has directed local authorities, departments, and relevant agencies to implement and execute disaster response plans. They are encouraged to proactively ensure safety in disaster prevention and control, adopting a "four-on-the-spot" approach and avoiding passivity in all situations. The authorities are operating round-the-clock and mobilizing people to overcome difficulties and stabilize the situation, safeguarding lives and property. They have assigned functional forces to be on duty and guide people not to use roads that are flooded.
