Launching the Club of Then singing – Tinh gourd lute of Tay and Nung ethnic groups (20/12/2022, 08:14)

On December 14, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak coordinated with the People's Committee of Krong Pak district to organize the launching ceremony of Then singing - Tinh gourd lute Club of Tay and Nung ethnic groups in Ea Kenh commune, Krong Pak district. This aims to preserve and promote the cultural identities and fine traditions of ethnic minorities in association with developing new-style rural areas.

Ea Kenh commune (Krong Pak district) currently has 2,972 households with 13,414 people, of which the Tay and Nung ethnic groups account for 14.7% of the district's population, living mainly in two hamlets of Thanh Xuan and Thanh Binh. Moving from the northern provinces to settle in Dak Lak, the Tay and Nung ethnic groups have brought the Then singing - Tinh gourd lute to the new homeland, becoming a unique culture in the community of 49 ethnic groups in Dak Lak province.

At the ceremony, the artists of Club of Then singing - Tinh gourd lute of Tay and Nung ethnic groups in Ea Kenh commune had a cultural exchange with many unique and impressive performances. The establishment of the club is a meaningful effort to create a joyful and healthy living space, and to put Then singing - Tinh lute practicing into effective and dimensional activities. Through which, preserving the national cultural identity associated with tourism development, enhancing community solidarity, building and developing Vietnamese culture, imbued with national identity.

The Then singing - Tinh gourd lute Club of Tay and Nung ethnic groups in Ea Kenh commune, Krong Pak district currently has 26 members, aged from 17 to 65, led by Mrs. Trieu Thi Hong Van.

Then singing - Tinh lute practicing is the best traditional culture of the Tay and Nung ethnic groups in particular and the Vietnamese people in general, imbued with national cultural identity and human quintessence. Then singing - Tinh lute practicing is often seen on major holidays such as contests, rain praying festivals, weddings, birthday celebrations, etc. Good Then songs and Tinh tunes have been taught by the previous generations and preserved for generations. The club was established and launched, creating conditions so that Then songs and Tinh tunes resound among the Central Highlands, harmonizing with the sound of of gongs and the sound of Khen, promoting the cultural diversity of ethnic groups. In the coming time, the club will continue to develop and teach this unique culture to the younger generations.

On this occasion, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province presented 10 Tinh gourd lutes and 10 traditional Tay and Nung costumes to the club.

At the same time, from December 10 to 25, the Department organizes a training to teach Then singing - Tinh lute practicing at the community hall of Thanh Binh village, Ea Kenh commune, Krong Pak district. This aims to timely detect and foster talents for the future, develop abilities, skills and improve the artistic level of Then singing - Tinh lute practicing among the people in the commune,  thereby contributing to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities.
