On November 21, as the residents of Dak Lak are heavily affected by natural disasters and flooding, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has urgently approved and expedited the reception of three significant international aid packages from the European Union (EU), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and CRS.   

According to the People's Committee of Dak Lak Province, all three essential aid packages are in kind, focusing on necessities and emergency shelter goods. The provincial government appreciates the concern of international organizations in helping the people quickly recover from the consequences of natural disasters.

Many international organizations join hands to provide urgent essential goods for the people of Dak Lak 

On November 21, as the residents of Dak Lak are heavily affected by natural disasters and flooding, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has urgently approved and expedited the reception of three significant international aid packages from the European Union (EU), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and CRS. 

Specifically, aid from the EU has been approved under Decision No. 4936/QĐ-BNNMT, providing 138 kitchen kits (consisting of 5 items per kit) and 150 family tents. The receiving, utilizing, and distributing agency is the People's Committee of Dak Lak Province.

Aid from IOM - the International Organization for Migration in Vietnam has committed a support package worth 550,500,000 VND (equivalent to 20,900 USD). The goods include: 5,000 bottles of drinking water (5 liters), 5,000 packs of instant sausages, and 5,000 packs of cakes. IOM has pledged to procure the items in Vietnam, transport, and distribute them to beneficiary households within 7 days of receiving the emergency aid acceptance decision.

Aid from CRS - the Catholic Relief Services in Vietnam has proposed to provide bottled drinking water. The total quantity is 9,395 cartons of bottled water, including 4,000 cartons of 500ml and 5,395 cartons of 1.5 liters.

Based on the proposal from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the People's Committee of Dak Lak Province expresses its gratitude and agrees to accept the international aid packages, designating a focal point to coordinate the reception of the emergency international aid.

To promptly support the people, the People's Committee has assigned the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to take the lead, coordinating with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dak Lak Province and relevant agencies to urgently appoint a focal point to receive the aforementioned international aid; at the same time, proactively coordinating closely with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and other relevant ministries and sectors to complete the procedures for receiving and reporting on the status of aid reception as required. Once the approval procedures are completed, essential items, from kitchen kits, family tents to tens of thousands of units of drinking water and food, will be swiftly delivered to the locality to timely support the affected residents.
