On March 6, at Cu M'Blim village, Ea Kao commune, the People's Committee of Buon Ma Thuot city held the 10th Culture and Sports Festival of ethnic minorities in Buon Ma Thuot - Cluster No. 1.

Attending were Deputy Director of Dak Lak Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Lai Duc Dai; Standing Vice Chairman of Buon Ma Thuot City People's Committee Pham Tien Hung; President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vietnam Buon Ma Thuot City H'Ler Eban, and the participation of 890 artisans, actors and athletes from 06 communes and wards in the city including: Ea Kao, Hoa Phu, Hoa Khanh, Hoa Xuan and Ea Tam and Khanh Xuan wards.

On the occasion, local residents participated in many unique cultural activities such as gong performance, folk art, beauty contest, brocade weaving, knitting, traditional cuisine, fast rice pounding, walking on stilts, pushing sticks and tug of war.

Standing Vice Chairman of Buon Ma Thuot City People's Committee Pham Tien Hung stated that the Cultural and Sports Festival for ethnic minorities in Buon Ma Thuot is an event held every 2 years in order encourage people of all ethnic groups in Buon Ma Thuot city to exchange and build solidarity; preserve and promote the cultural identity of ethnic groups, improve spiritual and material lives; promote traditional culture, sports and agricultural specialties in association with the development of community tourism in order to create jobs and increase incomes for ethnic communities.

According to Mr. Pham Tien Hung, Standing Vice Chairman of Buon Ma Thuot City People's Committee, the Cultural and Sports Festival of ethnic minorities in Buon Ma Thuot this year is also an opportunity to introduce and promote the fine cultural traditions of the ethnic groups in association with the 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2023.

 

Many special cultural activities to celebrate the 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival.

This is also an opportunity to converge the cultural and sports beauties of the ethnic groups in Buon Ma Thuot, making an important contribution to preserving, promoting and honoring the cultural identities of the ethnic groups, fostering the great national unity, building Buon Ma Thuot into a modern and unique city.
