Sharing experience, building communication technology and disseminating knowledge of science and technology (18/07/2018, 10:53)

Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) held a workshop on "Sharing experience, building communication skills and disseminating the knowledge of science and technology” in Buon Ma Thuot City on the morning of July 12th. The workshop had the attendance of Mr. Phan Tung Mau - Vice President of VUSTA, representatives of unions of science and technology associations of Central and Central Highlands Provinces.

At the Workshop, representatives of provincial/municipal unions of science and technology associations heard several speeches focusing on issues: the actual situation of communication activities and dissemination of knowledge to grassroots levels and the public; evaluation of some outstanding results of VUSTA and its member organizations in communication activities related to science and technology; giving the orientations of some specific activities of VUSTA in the coming time.

At present, VUSTA has a nation-wide network of 86 associations, 63 provincial/municipal branches, 450 affiliated science and technology organizations. Communication activities, dissemination of the knowledge have been implemented through newspapers, magazines, books, leaflets,  training courses, workshops on disseminating the knowledge and transferring scientific advances; holding educational and training activities, popularizing the knowledge on television with the aim of raising people's intellectual standards and contributing to socio-economic development.

VUSTA has 101 press agencies, both specializing and multi-sector newspapers and magazines which play an important role in dissemination of the knowledge, transferring and application of the scientific and technological advances in production and daily lives, improvement in living standards for local people. In addition, VUSTA also maintains the Knowledge Publisher to compile and publish a wide variety of books which provide a reliable source of information and knowledge for the community.

With the advantage of having many affiliated associations operating in multi-sector, VUSTA has promoted the strength of its members in organizing training sessions for specialized members, deploying many practical activities such as: Vietnam Scientific and Technological Innovation Award, the National Technical Innovation Contest and Technical Innovation Contest for the youth, Student Olympics, etc. Up to now, most member associations have published periodical news to timely popularize policies, technologies and scientific knowledge to the public.

Aiming to promote the communication work effectively, VUSTA set tasks to participate in digital Vietnamese knowledge system development project; standardization of information and knowledge in key areas to ensure reliability, bringing the knowledge system into a companion; connecting members of each field; improving VUSTA’s quality of communication and the dissemination of knowledge; building up coordination regulations between VUSTA and other relevant departments, sectors.

Immediately after the Workshop, delegates deputies participated in a training session on building up communication plans, models and efficient use of funds, measures to widen communication models at grassroots levels.
